Dicken's Festival

OK... so I auditioned for the Dicken's festival with both Kelsey and Isaiah. We all got in, as ensemble members. I'm just not sure I'll be able to do the show. I have classes on Wednesday and Thursday nights, so I will have to see what I can work out. Hopefully it will work out.

THE END IS COMING....

...of "Honk!" that is. We have one weekend of performances left. I don't perform in the Saturday matinee, but I will be in all of the evening performances. I'll be sad when it ends, but I am looking forward to getting back into a regular routine with my family again. By the time we are finished, the show will have had 23 performances total, not including the dress rehearsals. So we now have only 4 performances left as a cast. In the past few months I have made so many new friends, and I feel like I will keep in contact with most of the cast in the future. I will definitely watch as the kids get older, and look for them in future local performances. We have become like family in so many ways. (I finally got to mother some girls! Ha ha ha!) Well gotta run for now, but I will post some pictures later.

More pics from Honk! We opened last Friday to an audience of about 50 people. Luckily, the advertising has finally come out. Hopefully we will be able to get more families to come see the show. It's really fun to see the kids' reactions afterwards when they get to come meet the cast. So far, there have been quite a few children who wanted hugs from the "Mama Duck" and I am happy to oblige. One little girl's mom has helped out with show a couple of times, and she comes and gives me a hug every time. Kelsey had one boy come up to him and tell him he had the funniest part in the whole show. Awesome!!! Well Here are the pics...

Let's Play With the Fishes

What a cute class picture.

The ducklings can be so mean to their "brother"...

We have been rehearsing like no tomorrow. The studio we're in doesn't have very good air conditioning, and with our local weather we all go home dripping with sweat. But I feel like we are accomplishing a lot, and getting closer to the final product. We also got our tracks for us to practice with at home. Hallelujah.

Woo Hoo! We took pictures for our posters!
The room we were in was icky hot, so we had to stand in front of a fan between pictures to keep from getting shiny. I also managed to get someone to take a few pics with my camera. I also took a few pictures of Darrin, who plays Ugly. I wish I would have gotten some pictures with the kids who will also be on the poster, but I should be able to post some later. (I will have to get permission from their parents first too.) Just keep an eye out for other pics as well!
I can hardly wait until we move to the big stage next week. I am hoping it will be cooler as well. I am having a hard time staying cool enough to give any energy towards my performance. I also am having a hard time with the super long rehearsals. We are there for 3-4 hours with no breaks, and sometimes even longer. The key is taking snacks, and lots of ice water.

Honk! the Musical

I am so excited. I have been cast as the lead female role in SGMT's production of Honk! I play Ida, who is the mother of the Ugly Duckling who is named "Ugly" by his father and siblings. When Ugly goes missing, I am off to hunt for him. The musical shows part with Ugly trying to find his way home, and Ida trying to find her son. It is such a cute play, and family friendly.

I will add some links to other productions of Honk! that I found on YouTube. Have fun getting an idea of what I'll be doing for the next few months.
